Located at our beautiful Victory Garden Urban Farm, YEP! offers hands-on, inspiring, and fun experiences that help youth to learn about the food system, where food comes from, growing food, healthy eating habits, environmental practices, and much more. 

YEP! focuses on four main learning outcomes for youth:

  • Improved gardening skills
  • Improved perception of fruits and vegetables, soil, and the natural environment
  • Increased ability to work effectively in a group
  • Increased knowledge of food systems, nutrition, gardening, community, and the connections between these ideas

Scout Days

Scout Days are a farm experience that includes a tour of Victory Garden Initiatives Urban Farm, get your hands dirty activities, food system and garden based games, veggie tasting and much more. Scouts will connect to the source of their food while meeting partial badge requirements such as Gardening, Sustainability, Gardener, and many more.

A Farm Field Trip is a smell fresh air, get your hands dirty, learn something new, and fun-filled day. These 4-hour custom fieldtrips are located at Victory Garden Urban Farm, located in Milwaukee. Visiting this beautiful, green oasis in the heart of the Harambee neighborhood provides the perfect setting for kids to connect with a local food source, learn about growing food, and enjoy activities that highlight nutritious and healthy eating while being outside. 


Up to 4-hour sessions:  $5.00 per youth/ Adults are free
More than 4-hour sessions: $8.00 per youth / Adults are free

Youth Farm Intern Application

Monday 1:00-5:00 (pick up between 4:45-5:00)

The young youth farm internship program offers youth in the Harambee neighborhood and beyond an extended summer experience on teh farm. Youth interns will:

  • have a chance to get their hands dirty while being outside in the fresh air;

  • connect to a local food source while learning how their food grows;

  • taste vegetables and understand why they are nutritious for our bodies;

  • plant seeds and watch them grow throughout the summer;

  • create their own compost bin to use in their kitchen at home;

  • have fun while learning with games and activities

  • experience other learning opportunities and activities such as human values, cooking, teamwork and more; and
  • make new friends.
